Bye Bye Werner

Ok, so Werner wasn't what I had expected. I won't be working for them. I left after completing the first day of orientation. I am back home now and continue the look for employment.

Welcome to Allentown, PA

Hello everyone, I have arrived in Allentown. I left Rochester first thing this morning and got in to the bus station here in Allentown at 8:00 pm. After a short wait, the shuttle came and brought me to the Hotel.
It's been a long day, so I will say good night. I will post more tomorrow.

Orientation at Werner Enterprises Scheduled

For those just coming aboard, Welcome :-)

I started Blogging as part of my decision to make a pretty big change in my career. You see I retired from the Navy in 1999, and then got heavy into Technology. My last position was that of Manager of Messaging Systems and Support at Constellation Brands. I was laid off in October of 2008. After looking for several months, I decided to attend National Tractor Trailer School in Liverpool, NY. I graduated third in my class on June 15th. After three attempts, I passed my NYS CDL road test on July 16th. While at school, I applied for and was accepted to work for Werner Enterprises. My orientation is scheduled to begin this Friday, July 24th. Which consequently happens to be my Birthday. Good omen? I hope so.

On Thursday morning July 23rd, I will be dropped off at the Greyhound bus station in Rochester, NY. I am scheduled to arrive in Allentown, PA around 6:30 PM that evening. A shuttle will take me from the bus station to the hotel. Another shuttle will pick me up in the morning and take me to the Werner Terminal, where my orientation will begin.

I will have my laptop with me and will Blog all my experiences along the way. Until next time, Take Care,
